The Breif

Reimagine the GRAMMYS. To create exciting revolutionary show graphics to support music’s most anticipated event: the annual Grammy Awards. Graphics include the show open title sequence with logo. Officially known as the 69th GRAMMY Awards

The Idea

How can I create a brand new, fresh, polished, sophisticated, through suralism of nature and abstraction of enviroment

Ideation

I looked at the GRAMMYS branding, what visual motifs do they use, and what does the event represent? I found that the brand had graphics that felt brand polished, sophisticated, dynamic, and premium to represent the best of the best in the music industry. With this in mind, I thought of reimagining the event to take place in a world that felt like a utopia.

Production

Before I could create the visuals, I needed the star of the show — the iconic Gramophone trophy. I referenced images from online angles and started modeling in Cinema 4D, taking time to make every corner thoughtfully measuerd and sharp!

Enviroment

Once I had the model, I started creating a scene to give the feel of premium music, which also felt natural and grand. I landed on a field of lavender grass and alien-like rocks, with the center a grandiose ring of pillars, symbolizing that the Grammys are where the pillars of the music industry unite.

Compositing

The modeling and scene building were done, and an animated camera movement was rendered out to send to After Effects for the visual information that was crucial for letting the viewers know where and when. I also took the time to color-correct and sharpen the image to give the animation's lighting a more surreal look.
